Norma Kruger is an emerging artist living in Edmonton.
I have always appreciated artwork and over the years, and I've collected several paintings done by some of my favourites artists.  The idea of becoming an artist myself seemed unrealistic .
Then one day, after receiving continued pressure from my daughter to pursue my dream, I decided to enroll in a beginner art class where I began to learn from Svetlana Kanyo, a gifted artist and teacher.  She provided me with the support and encouragement to push my boundaries. I would never have imagined that one day painting would become my passion.
Since beginning painting classes a few years ago, I've gone from painting occasionally, to painting virtually every chance I get.
I paint a wide variety of subjects from old abandoned vehicles to buildings, new and old, to animals, landscapes and flowers. I love painting with oil because it is so versatile.  I am always looking for a new challenge, and I'm happy when people love my art and ask me to paint something for them.

Artist Goals:

My goal as an artist is to create a variety of paintings that appeal to people of all ages and ethnicities. I'm looking forward to working with galleries who showcase female artists, who’s work represents stories of Alberta, the Prairies, and abandoned places.
I'd like to share my artwork, in particular my abandoned vehicle series, with the community by one day having  a travelling exhibition that tells the story of an earlier way of life on the Prairies.
I am passionate about painting and I will always  take on new challenges so that I continue to learn and grow as an artist.
